A legitimate foodie destination, Las Vegas has it fair share of celebrity chefs. Multi-Michelin-starred Joël Robuchon, for example, has two restaurants in the MGM Grand. Make reservations in advance, particularly for the better known restaurants.
Culture
Where else can you marvel at dancing fountains (the Bellagio), or watch, wide-eyed, an erupting volcano (the Mirage)? Simply gazing at the over-the-top wonder of it all can occupy hours, especially at night - an unforgettable sight. Plus, there are plenty of out-of-town sightseeing spots, such as Hoover Dam and Area 51.
Shopping
If you like general shop-till-you-drop fun, this town's for you. In addition to the massive malls, many hotels have excellent - and sometimes highly themed - shopping arcades - many open until 11pm and beyond. The best are in Caesar's Palace, Planet Hollywood, and the Venetian.
Getting around
Las Vegas is easy to get around. Buses run 24/7, cabs are plentiful, and a monorail runs along the east side of The Strip every day. You'll still cover a lot on foot, though.
