We strongly advise that all travellers take out a travel insurance policy for the period of their travel. The Gold Medal Travel Group has tailored a comprehensive travel insurance package. Benefits under this Policy are underwritten by Europ Assistance Holding Irish Branch of 3rd Floor, St James House, Adelaide Road, Dublin 2, Ireland.
The following is only a brief synopsis of the cover, as full details will be forwarded with your Booking Invoice (or travel documents in the case of late bookings).

Your Luxury Holiday Insurance ‘Main Features’
Gold Medal has tailored a travel insurance policy specifically designed to cater for the needs of customers purchasing our superior product. The many great features of this policy include:
- Medical Expenses up to £10 million.
- No excess to be paid in the event of a claim being made.
- A Personal Belongings limit of £3,000 (with up to £300 for a Single Article and £500 for Valuables).
- Cancellation Cover up to £10,000 per person.

Material Facts:
You must declare to the Insurers all Material Facts that are likely to affect this insurance. Failure to do so may prejudice entitlement to claim. If you are uncertain as to whether a fact is material, you should declare it to the Insurers. A definition of a ‘Material Fact’ is in the Policy in the meaning of words.
Health:
This Policy contains restrictions regarding Pre-existing Medical Conditions which unless declared and accepted by the Insurers in writing prior to travel may invalidate any subsequent claim. If you are in any doubt as to whether you would be covered by the Policy please call the Medical Screening Helpline on 0870 737 5866.
Standard Sports and Activities:
Standard Sports and Activities are defined in the Policy in the meaning of words. If you are going to take part in any other sports and activities where there may be a high risk of injury or if you are in any doubt as to whether cover will apply, please refer to Gold Medal Travel or call the Travel Helpline on 0870 737 5863 or from abroad dial UK code then 1444 442705.
Age Limit:
No Section of this Policy shall apply in respect of any person who has reached the age 76 years at the time of departure.
Trip Limits:
Your Policy contains strict limits on the length of time you can spend travelling abroad on each trip. A definition of a ‘Trip’ is in the Policy in the Meaning of Words. TRAVELLING IN EXCESS OF THE TRIP LIMITS WILL INVALIDATE THE WHOLE POLICY. Trips must commence and end in the UK Area.
Medical Emergency:
In the event of a medical emergency You must contact the insurers as soon as possible, before incurring expenses in excess of £500. If you are physically prevented from contacting the insurers immediately, you or someone designated by you must contact the Insurers within 48 hours. Third Party Liability:
If you hire a motor vehicle, sail or powered boat, or an aircraft, no liability cover will apply under this Policy and you must ensure that cover for third party injury or property damage is included with the cost of hire.

Conditions, Exclusions and Notes:
Conditions and exclusions will apply to individual sections of your Policy while general exclusions, conditions and notes will apply to the whole of your Policy.
Personal Possessions:
While this Policy provides cover for your Personal Luggage, if you are planning to take expensive items such as sophisticated photographic equipment, jewellery and other valuables with you then you should check that you have adequate personal possessions cover, under a home contents insurance. The maximum the insurers will pay under this Policy for Valuables owned per insured person is limited to £500.
Personal Property Claims:
These claims are paid based on the value of the goods at the time that they are lost and not on a ‘new for old basis’ or replacement cost basis; thus a deduction is made for wear, tear, and depreciation.

You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property, as you would if you were not insured.

The Policy has a complaints procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.
Jurisdiction:
Your Policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Cooling Off Period:
If, when reading your Policy, you decide that it does not meet your requirements, please return the Policy and Booking Invoice to Gold Medal Travel within 15 days of you having received it. On condition that you have not made a trip and you have not submitted a claim or know of any circumstances that may lead to claim, you will be refunded any premium you have paid.
A Brief Summary of Your Cover
Section 1 – Medical Emergency & Repatriation
Up to £10,000,000. Includes repatriation by air ambulance where medically necessary and with prior authorisation of the 24 hour emergency service.
Section 2 – Emergency Dental Treatment
Up to £150 for the costs of providing temporary treatment for the immediate relief of pain.
Section 3 – Additional Accommodation & Travelling Costs
In the event of a valid claim under Section 1 - Medical Emergency & Repatriation, up to £5,000 for additional travelling and accommodation costs.
Section 4 – Hospital Daily Benefit
In the event of a valid claim under Section 1 - Medical Emergency & Repatriation, a benefit of £40 per complete day of in-patient treatment up to a maximum of £600.
Section 5 – Cancellation & Curtailment
Irrecoverable travel and accommodation costs up to a maximum £10,000, due to death, injury, illness, jury service or redundancy.
Section 6 – Travel Delay & Abandonment
Up to £250. In the event of a 12 hour delay £25 per Insured Person and £25 for each subsequent 12 hour period will be paid, up to a maximum of £250. For more than 12 hours beyond the intended departure time: You can choose instead to abandon your trip and submit a cancellation claim under Section 5.
Section 7 – UK Departure Assistance & Missed UK Connection
Up to £1,000 to meet the additional costs incurred should you be delayed on your outward journey from the UK or you have missed your planned UK internal travel connection on your return to the UK.
Section 8 – Missed Departure on the Outward Journey
Up to £1,000. Reimbursement of extra travel and accommodation expenses.
Section 9 – Personal Luggage
Up to £3,000. Single article limit £300. Valuables limit £500.
Section 10 – Luggage Delay on Your Outward Journey
Up to £250 for the purchase of essential items if your luggage has been lost or misplaced on the outward journey for a period in excess of 12 hours.
Section 11 – Money and Passport
Money up to £600 (£400 cash). Under 16’s £50. Passport £250.
Section 12 – Personal Liability
Up to £2,000,000.
Section 13 – Personal Accident
Up to £5,000 in respect of accidental death. Other capital benefits for loss of sight, limb(s), or permanent total disablement, benefits payable up to £25,000. Death benefit for children or persons aged under 16 years, limited to £1,500. No permanent total disablement benefit is payable for persons over 65 years of age.
Section 14 – Legal Protection
Up to £50,000. To pursue a claim for personal injury or death against a third party.
Excess Waiver
No excesses are payable as part of this policy. This policy is only available to UK residents.

The premium is to be added to the deposit payment. Children under two years of age at the time of departure and for whom no travel charge is made are covered at Nil premium in respect of all sections of the policy when travelling with an insured adult.
