Al Qasr Madinat Jumeirah

Rising proudly into the sunny sky, Al Qasr is the dazzling centrepiece of Madinat Jumeirah, a super-luxurious three-hotel resort and one of Dubai's most prestigious destinations. It has its own canal system along which guests are ferried on motorised water taxis. Approached by a ceremonial causeway decorated with beautiful sculptures of Arabian horses, this majestic white-washed hotel - designed to look like a sheikh's summer residence - offers 292 exquisite guest rooms and suites with private balconies, set in extensive gardens and close to a large private golden beach where water sports and banana rides are forever being enjoyed. The resort as a whole has over 45 restaurants, bars and lounges and all feature wide terraces for dining in the Gulf sun. Al Qasr itself, however, has four bars and lounges, and five restaurants, among them Al Hambra serving Spanish dishes, and the Arboretum, which has an Arabian menu. The resort's rather grand Talise Spa has its own restaurant - Magnolia - serving very good vegetarian (mostly organic) dishes in a soothing garden setting.
