Amankila sits on a cliff under the towering Mount Agung, overlooking the turquoise Lombok Strait in the east of Bali. Below stretches a beach club with eight private bales for lounging.
Thirty four free-standing elevated thatched suites take advantage of the spectacular views, and are connected to the reception and restaurant area by stepped walkways. All have a large bedroom with wide window views and canopied king-size bed. Bathrooms are divided, with a window-side divan, soaking tub, separate shower and toilet rooms, which give way to coconut shell dressing areas and double terrazzo vanities.
The outdoor terrace is furnished with a day bed, table and rattan chairs. The Kilasari Suite perches high on the hillside, where views are soaked up from a 12 metre infinity pool.
Blissful Balinese massage and beauty treatments are available in the privacy of your suite; in the massage pavilion, or at the Beach Club where two teakwood massage tables are hidden away in a grove of coconut palms and flowering bushes.
Western and Indonesian dinners can be enjoyed at The Restaurant. The Terrace, set back from the signature three-tier pool, opens for breakfast and lunch, while afternoon tea is served in front of The Library, where local women offer Indonesian ginger tea and local cakes.

Amankila's suites are elevated to take advantage of the spectacular views to the sea and surrounding hillsides. The 34 free-standing suites, with their alang alang roof thatching, are fashioned as beach houses with a twist. They reflect the lines and flow of their East Bali surroundings, in particular the royal water palace just outside Amlapura, the district capital. Suites are connected to the reception and restaurant area by stepped walkways. Wireless broadband connections are available in all resort accommodations and public areas.

Adjacent to the Restaurant is Amankila's Bar, with its views to the sea. The Terrace, set just back from the signature three-tier pool is open for breakfast and lunch and serves Asian and Western cuisine. Afternoon tea is served daily in front of the Library, where local women dressed in sarongs and kebayas offer Indonesian ginger tea, Bali kopi and local Balinese cakes.
The Beach Club offers a simple menu of salads, pizzas, Indonesian and Western light dishes for brunch, lunch and afternoon tea.
