Amanyara

Amanyara (‘peaceful place’) sits at the tip of the west Providenciales coast, facing some of the most revered reefs and dive sites in the world. An endless pearly soft beach lies adjacent. Reflecting ponds and sunny open spaces create a peaceful haven that nurtures the soul.

Low rise contemporary pavilions built from traditional materials blend unobtrusively with the sweeping white sands. Sliding glass windows surround its identical 40 timber shingle pavilions, retracting on three sides. The entrance terrace features two day beds and these combined sleeping and living spaces open onto two additional terraces; the first with twin banquettes for lounging; the second featuring a sunken table with cushions and bolsters. Alongside the pavilions are a select number of private villa homes, each on little over of an acre and a half of lush landscape and each comes with its own four seater golf buggy.

Wherever you stay, Amanyara’s holistic therapists will soothe and rejuvenate with in-room massages and beauty treatments, using organic products. Steps from Amanyara's entrance pavilion is Malcolm's Beach, one of the island's most secluded beaches, its soft sand stretches 1,000 metres. Set on a dune at its southern end, Amanyara's Beach Club serves simple sandwiches, salads and shakes throughout the unhurried day.

ROOM TYPES

Room overview

All timber-shingled pavilions are identical in layout and design. An overhanging roofline creates shaded outdoor areas on the pavilion’s three terraces which are accessible through large sliding glass doors that open to catch the cooling sea breezes. Arrival to a pavilion is via an entrance terrace that houses two daybeds. Sliding glass doors open to reveal the room’s interior which features a central king-size bed behind which sits a writing desk and chair. Beyond is a cabinet that contains a personal bar with refreshments. Positioned in the corners of the room are a reading chair with a footstool and an entertainment unit comprising a flat screen television and DVD/CD player with surround sound system. This combined bedroom and living room also opens onto two additional terraces, the first with twin banquettes for lounging or dining and the second featuring a sunken table with cushions and bolsters and two sunning mats on an exposed timber terrace.

Pavilions

Pavilions- Each pavilion is sited on the edge of tranquil ponds with a timber sun deck extending over the water.

Partial Ocean Pavilions - These pavilions are nestled in the vegetation along the shoreline.

Ocean Pavilions - Positioned along the oceanfront with views of the ocean, these pavilions are elevated approximately 15-20ft above the waterline and have pathways leading to the rock formations above the sea.

Pavilion 115 enjoys sweeping ocean vistas and has direct access to a sandy beach cove.

Villa Homes

Alongside the pavilions, Amanyara embraces a select number of private villa homes which are available for rent. Each villa sits on little over an acre and a half of lush landscape and they emulate, on a more intimate scale, the Amanyara resort as a whole. The three, four or five bedroom villas are sited either along the oceanfront; overlooking a tranquil pond or nestled in the island vegetation, some featuring internal reflecting ponds. The villas are centred by either a rectangular or square infinity edged swimming pool in black volcanic rock surrounded by extensive hardwood decking. The free-standing bedroom pavilions are similar to those of the resort with some featuring outdoor bathtubs and showers. A large living and dining pavilion, outdoor dining sala and fully-equipped kitchen are included in each villa, and a personal cook and housekeeper take care of all guests’ needs. Villas come with two four-seater golf buggies and guests can enjoy access to the resort’s facilities and services.

LEISURE

Beach

Steps from Amanyara's entrance pavilion is Malcolm's Beach. One of the island's most secluded beaches, its soft sand stretches 1,000m. Amanyara's Beach Club and Dive Pavillion provides services throughout the day.

Snorkelling can be enjoyed just offshore and a complimentary snorkelling trip departs daily from the beach (weather permitting). A variety of equipment is available including snorkelling equipment, Hobie cats, boogie boards and ocean kayaks.

The breeze generally originates from the south-east from May to September, giving the beach an excellent setting for sailing and watersports. From October through April, stronger breezes prevail from the north-east, bringing cooler temperatures and occasional waves.

Dive sites in Northwest Point Marine National Park are, weather permitting, three to eight minutes’ boat ride from the beach.

Spa Treatments

Amanyara has a team of skilled therapists providing massages and body treatments for guests in the privacy of their pavilions.

A variety of oil and pressure point massages, including traditional Thai massage, are available.

Beauty treatments include manicures, pedicures and facials using Aman’s unique range of natural, organic skin-care products.

The Island

Although the island of Providenciales is relatively small, half-day excursions explore such places of interest as the historic plantation ruins at Cheshire Hall, rock carvings at Sapodilla Hill, and the "Hole", a curious sinkhole. Caicos Conch Farm, on the eastern end of the island, is the only place in the West Indies where the conch is commercially produced. Additionally, there are a few shops offering locally made items such as traditional Middle Caicos woven baskets and other crafts, or artwork by resident and Caribbean artists.
