Sister hotel to Dukes and the award-winning One Aldwych in London, this super-chic boutique hotel lies on the sandy shores of one of the most beautiful bays in the Caribbean. There are plenty of wow factors about Carlisle Bay, not least the dramatic arrival over a lily pond guarded by flaming torches and the jaw-dropping backdrop of rainforest and rolling hills.

Inside, contemporary cool grey interiors are complemented by sleek, dark wood furniture, Frette linen and original black and white photography of native plants. Other luxurious touches include a private screening room showing complimentary movies daily and the ultra modern 17,000 square foot Blue Spa with its outdoor yoga pavilion. Carlisle Bay is completely child friendly with its safe beach and spaciously designed, two-roomed Beach Suites with bespoke furniture and huge bathrooms. Younger guests are made to feel at home with a weekly activity programme and a fully supervised, purpose-built Cool Kids Club (three years to twelve years old) and crèche (six months to three years old) set in the hotel's tropical gardens. There is an itinerary of events to choose from including Hobie Cat sailing, rainforest hikes, tennis clinics and fun excursions such as swimming with sting rays. There are also special teenage activities. All water sports are complimentary, excluding motorised water sports which are available in the next bay. To top it all, the hotel has two of Antigua's best restaurants - East for pan-Asian cooking and Indigo on the Beach for delicious grills and seafood. Both menus are available on the beach or relaxing by the pool.
