Cobblers Cove, blends the relaxed atmosphere of an English country home with the tropical beauty of the Caribbean. With its well-heeled, mainly British clientele and cosy air, there are times when it seems like an English house party in the tropics.
Set in two-storey buildings, Cobblers' 40 suites each have an elegant bedroom and a drawing room with sofa beds - ideal for a child - and a balcony or sitting area at the front that looks out onto the vivid gardens or the sea. The Camelot and Cotton Suites have marble flooring, hand-painted furnishings and a Jacuzzi.
Loved by Delia Smith, the beachfront restaurant has won international awards. The barbecued seafood buffets are especially delicious. Entertainment is staged three times a week in summer; four in winter. And the familial service - waiters know most guests by first name - is very much part of this small resort's charm. Two new treatment rooms were opened at the hotel in November 2007 and are built in a Bajan chattel-house design. Tucked away in a private walled garden area - the calming Frangipani and Hibiscus rooms feature natural coral stone walls with lime washed wooden floors. A creative list of activities - including swimming with turtles and an arts and crafts room - will keep children enthralled. A babysitter can be relied on when perfect peace is needed. Windsurfing, snorkelling and other exhilarating water sports are complimentary.
Courtesy transport to Bridgetown is daily, and parking free.
