The Discovery at Marigot Bay

Cut into the lush hillside, Discovery at Marigot Bay’s harbour setting is one of the most memorable places on the stunningly beautiful St. Lucia. Described by novelist James A Michener as "the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean," it has been photographed and filmed so many times that first time visitors often experience a jolt of recognition.

A contemporary haven, it offers 35 luxury rooms and 57 dramatic suites with walk-in drench showers (bath tubs available on request) and Fili D'Oro Egyptian cotton sheets. Overlooking yachts arriving at the resort’s own marina, over half of the suites have an outdoor Jacuzzi.

Each treatment room at the graceful Lapli Spa has a private deck, while soothing wooden soaking tubs and massage cabanas are found in the Zen garden. The hotel uses a small beach just a two-minute ferry ride across Marigot Bay – a smart boardwalk leads from the resort to the marina village, a charming shopping mall. Hearty breakfasts and local delicacies are served all day at the colonial themed Boudreau Restaurant overlooking the beautiful bay, while the Hurricane Hole offers excellent lunches and snacks. The place to be seen is the Pink Snail Bar, a chic champagne bar themed on the original Dr Dolittle, filmed at the resort 40 years ago.
