Constructed on the wish of the Sheik Emirates Palace is an awe inspiring sight. Rising from the sand along a mile-long stretch of Abu Dhabi’s most beautiful beach, its dusky structure is crowned by a staggering 114 domes, of which the largest is taller than the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
Below, hundreds of fountains sparkle amid 600 acres of exotic manicured grounds. Inside, over one million square feet of marble, and a thousand Swarovski chandeliers help create a most magnificent space housing 302 Grand Rooms and 92 suites adorned in reams of gold leaf and pure silk embroidered fabrics.
Guests are given command of all appliances, including the lights, and entertainment system, with a touch screen handheld control.
Le Vendôme Brasserie offers international cuisine on an extensive terrace overlooking the beach and marina, while the mystical Sayad specialises in seafood. The Caviar Bar in the Al Majlis serves the best Iranian caviar and an extensive champagne list in a stunning setting. The only Moroccan hammam in Abu Dhabi is here, at Anantara Spa, where the ‘his and hers’ treatments in particular are exceptionally relaxing.
