Four Seasons Resort, Langkawi

Stretching along one of Langkawi Island's most dazzling beaches, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi is a tropical paradise enjoying a spectacular backdrop of lush rainforest and rocky outcrops by the Andaman Sea. All 91 guest pavilions and villas offer a soothing sea soundtrack and sensational sunsets. These generously sized accommodations are a fusion of traditional and modern Malaysian design elements, with timber floors, soaring ceilings and large open verandas. Some villas and all lower-level pavilions include secluded outdoor bathing and showers that evoke the feeling of a gentle tropical rainfall. Each of the one-bed Beach Villas, as well as the Royal Villa, has a private spa room complete with two treatment beds, where guests can luxuriate having any of four signature massages - urut melayu, Asian fusion, synchronised massage and foot reflex - in total privacy. There's also a serene stand alone spa formed of six secluded tropical wood pavilions set against a backdrop of limestone granite. Couples can enjoy a private outdoor shower or indoor bath in a soaking tub. In a separate pavilion, yoga and meditation can be practiced. The ultimate romantic resort gesture, so to speak, is dinner a deux in a regal Indian tent beneath the night sky.

Restaurant & Bars

Ikan Ikan - Set in the style of a "limas", the traditional Malaysian residence, Ikan-Ikan exudes an enviable charm. Meaning "fish" in Malay, Ikan-Ikan has a fish-scale-tiled roof. Its teak wood deck offers spectacular ocean views unrivalled in Asia.

The Rhu Bar - The Rhu Bar cultivates a rich Middle Eastern ambience. Amidst hanging fabrics, guests lounge on wicker sofas piled high with coloured cushions, whilst enjoying views of clear blue waters. Turkish water pipes, Indian Mogul hanging swings and a pool table complete the picture. Rhu Bar offers a selection of meze as snacks, and an evening beverage list featuring house special tropical cocktails, old favourites, international beers and an extensive wine list.

Restaurant & Bars

Serai - Serai, which means "lemongrass" in Malay, celebrates the sun-drenched flavours of southern Italy and the Mediterranean. The creative menu features light, classic Italian specialties, using the freshest ingredients delicately balanced with aromatic herbs and spices.

Kafe Kelapa - This poolside Kafe Kelapa features a full-service bar offering a wide range of tropical and international cocktails. A favourite drink is the famed young coconut iced water known locally as "kelapa". Guests savour unobstructed views with their food and drinks. The traditional thatched roof and a coconut chandelier complete the tropical ambience.
