Premium split-level beach front suites
40 acres of tropical gardens
Fronted by a perfect swathe of sand and backed by a bird sanctuary lagoon, the multi award-winning Galley Bay is an unrivalled setting on the tranquil west coast of Antigua. There is little disruption from the outside world - access to the sugar mill reception is by wooden bridge.
There’s nothing to fault, and everything to praise. Smiling staff look after you from the moment you arrive, whisking you off by golf cart to one of the intimate 98 suites, Tahitian-style Gaugin cottages or the newly refurbished premium Beach Front rooms. In thatch, bamboo and terracotta, with louver windows and wooden decks, they feature rattan furnishings and colourful local art.
The majority grace the white sand beach; others are tucked away in the 40 acre gardens and have a private splash pool. Indulgence is sipping a rum punch at the Teepee Bar, watching the sun slowly sink behind the Caribbean Sea, before feasting on the phenomenal Euro-Caribbean food at Seagrape, Galley Bay’s main restaurant. The cosy Gauguin restaurant, meanwhile, serves grilled candlelit feasts in thatched cabanas to the rhythmic sound of rolling waves. Whilst it’s definitely a place for relaxation, this haven also offers plenty of things to do, from spa days and non-motorised watersports to cycling.

The 69 guest rooms are tucked discreetly away amidst the palms, with more than three quarters of them lying directly on a white sand beach.
These traditional single level rooms are located directly on the beach and feature vaulted ceilings, private terraces and en-suite bathrooms with showers only. A few seconds is all it takes to get from bed to sea, whilst rattan furnishings, louvered windows and colourful local art create a mood that is quintessentially Caribbean.
Situated close to the bird sanctuary lagoon, about 50-yards from the beach. Each one consists of two separate thatched rondavels connected by a sheltered breezeway - one is an air-conditioned bedroom and the other is a dressing room/bathroom with ceiling fan and shower. Their splash pools measure a minimum of 7 ft. by 9 ft. and feature adjacent sundecks concealed by either the tropical vegetation or screens made from natural Spanish heather.
Begin your evening with a sun downer whilst watching the sun slowly sink behind the Caribbean Sea before taking dinner in one of the two oceanfront restaurants.
Teepee Bar - informal oceanfront setting perfect for sundowners.
Lounge Bar - serving cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in our elegant surrounds, the friendly staff and lively rhythms guarantee a memorable occasion.
Seagrape Restaurant - with a fabulous oceanfront this restaurant offers award-winning Euro-Caribbean cuisine showcasing the finest local produce and seafood.
Gauguin Restaurant - for a delightful change of scene, why not reserve one of the thatched cabanas in this intimate restaurant? Here you can dine a deux on delicious grills enhanced by candlelight and the sound of the surf.
Do it all ... or nothing at all. That’s the beauty of Galley Bay.
