Famed for its laidback luxury and natural Maldivian charm, Kanuhura is a very private retreat. The island setting is genuinely breathtaking – an endless expanse of turquoise blue sea and serene sandy shores. A personal host welcomes you to one of the 95 stunning Water or Beach Villas. Created from traditional Maldivian thatch and stone, the interiors are inspired by local designs. The most luxurious feature teak floors, private courtyards, open-air bathrooms and a 24 hour personal host service. Intimate and tranquil, the water villas have sundecks and steps leading directly into the lagoon. The Beach Villas, with private verandas, are dotted along the island’s coral sand fringe. An in-room champagne bathing ceremony takes indulging to a new level, as do romantic meals delivered to your veranda, beach front or picturesque spots around the island. Your villa apart, a timber table at the Veli Café at one end of the island is perhaps the most romantic place to dine. The Spa is a vast wooden pavilion offering over 40 blissful therapies, including The Thari Experience which customises treatments to your zodiac sign. The resort’s sister island Jehunuhura is perfect for weddings or a romantic picnic for two.
