Out of the Blue

Out of the Blue is an apt name for this vast deluxe resort stretching out across a sunny peninsula approximately twenty minutes from Heraklion, the capital of Crete. Surrounded by a beautiful botanical park overlooking the Aegean, and close to the island's main ancient sites, it gets top marks for location. Set out like a village there are two main hotel buildings and three private neighbourhoods. Best for families is the Eternal Oasis neighbourhood - its bungalow-suites and maisonettes have interconnecting rooms; there is a playground and pools; and it is closest to the resort's mythological Minoan amusement park.
