The Taj Exotica blends magical Maldivian hospitality with a romantic island location. Stretching across a pristine white beach, the award-winning resort is encircled by one of the largest lagoons in the region. The palm thatched 62 lagoon and beach villas with sundecks, verandas or balconies are all built from local materials, and chicly decorated in neutral tones and textures. Some have bathtubs overlooking the sea, a plunge pool, a courtyard and a tropical outdoor shower. Set on stilts, the Rehendhi Presidential Suite has a glassed bathroom with Indian Ocean views, a large freshwater pool and a suspended deck filled with powder soft sand – your very own beach. All villas have a bar, film and sound system, and rain showers. With tropical inspired interiors and splendid ocean views, the Taj Spa is the epitome of paradise privacy. Fanned around a courtyard garden are its over water pavilions with private sundecks. The signature Indian Royal Mud and Bathing Experience Pavilion has a splendid semi-outdoor suite with luxury hammam, ‘couple experience’ showers and unique wet area. Each of the resort's luxuriously designed 62 villas is furnished in natural tones and textures. The warmth of wood, the fragrance of flowers and the soft glow of lamps and candles create an intimate ambience in the villas. Expansive ocean views and a soothing breeze relax the senses. All the villas are palm-thatched, built of finest natural wood finishes on the exteriors and floors and are delightfully appointed in classic Maldivian style.
These have all the same amenities as the Deluxe Lagoon Villas and also feature a private deck with a freshwater plunge pool and an alluring day-bed area with spectacular views.
The 31 Deluxe Lagoon Villas are located at the far end of the island. These elegant stand-alone villas offer complete privacy as they open out to private sundecks with serene sea views and ladders leading into the lagoon, easy chairs and loungers. Stylized furniture, a double vanity bathroom, rain showers, bathtubs with an infinite view of the Indian Ocean and special in-villa furnishings create a special ambience.
From casual, all-day dining to formal, fine dining, guests can savour a choice of gourmet cuisine, cool beverages and the choicest wines. The resort offers a distinctive dining experience at its restaurants. The menus feature traditional and contemporary favourites of a variety of international cuisines that are complemented with fine wines from the resort's cellar. Guests can dine at the restaurants or any spot on the island of their choice.
Restaurant - 24 Degrees - the charm and conviviality of this informal and inviting all day dining restaurant is enhanced by a display kitchen and indoor and al fresco beach dining. The menu features a variety of Pan-Asian and Continental fare and a selection of fine wines.
Mediterranean Restaurant - The Deep End - this elegant Mediterranean restaurant offers an extensive a la carte menu with a choice of flavourful meats, game and seafood, along with vegetarian specialities, complemented with fine wines from the cellar. The menu also features a choice of deserts and cigars.
Equator Bar - unwind to soulful music and the rustle of the wind, waves and palms with a choice of innovative and refreshing beverages including sundowners, ice cold margaritas, wine coolers and cocktails. The bar also serves a variety traditional vintages and New World wines, and cigars.
