Inspired by the colonial elegance and personal service of an era past, The Residence Mauritius is a plantation style resort nestling in 24 acres of lush tropical gardens along a breathtaking 1kilometre beach. There are 135 large guest rooms and 28 suites to choose from, each decorated and furnished in the cooling creams and honey coloured woods so redolent of colonial style. Each has a private balcony or terrace, a luxury marble bathroom with walk-in wardrobe, internet access and a butler service, wonderful at all the little touches, from unpacking luggage to placing aromatic drops of ylang ylang on the pillow to help you sleep. There are also eight superb Colonial Ocean Front Suites - the ultimate in colonial grandeur. Each of the three restaurants have their own distinctive atmosphere. The Dining Room offers an international menu drawing inspiration from the island’s French heritage. The Verandah serves light dishes, fresh salads and delectable lunches, whilst The Plantation combines the spices of Mauritius with fresh seafood, and sits so close to the ocean you can almost catch dinner yourself. The centrepiece Sanctuary spa guarantees moments of zen like bliss with its custom-made La Praire treatments given in an enchanting environment of neutral tones, gently draped cotton and candlelight.

The decoration of the oversized rooms and suites (from 54 to 164 square metres) is an inspired blend of sobriety and elegance. A muted colour-scheme of white and delicate shades of beige, picks out harmonies of honey-coloured woods and wrought iron. The 135 luxuriously appointed rooms and 28 suites, each with a spacious private balcony, patio or terrace are divided in 7 categories.
8 Garden View Junior Suites. One bedroom suite is fully air-conditioned with overhead fan, king size bed or twin beds, a spacious bathroom with a separate bathtub and shower cabin, coiffeuse, hairdryer, La Prairie amenities, electronic safe. The living area hosts tea and coffee facilities, mini bar, satellite television with in-house movie channels, DVD and CD player and direct dial telephone with voice mail system. Terrace equipped with wooden table and chairs. Computer with free internet access on request. These suites interconnect with either Garden View or Ocean View rooms.
2 Colonial Ocean View Suites. One bedroom suite is fully air-conditioned, overhead fan, four poster bed, spacious bathroom with a separate bathtub and shower cabin, coiffeuse, hairdryer, La Prairie amenities, vast wardrobe and electronic safe. The vast living room hosts a computer with free internet access, tea and coffee facilities, mini bar, satellite television with in-house movie channels (one in the bedroom and one in the living room), DVD and CD player and direct dial telephone with voice mail system. Large ocean view terrace is furnished with elegant wooden chairs, table and sun beds. These suites interconnect with Ocean View rooms.
Spa - The Sanctuary, a haven of peace and serenity, located inside the hotel, is a 600 square metre space dedicated to treatments for the body and mind. One of the 9 treatment rooms is located in the tropical gardens, overlooking the lagoon, offering massages and treatment in a soft seaside breeze. The Sanctuary is innovative and offers complete programs based on the clients' individual needs.
