Welcome to Venice, Vegas-style. You get the best of both at this Venetian-themed luxury hotel and casino on the east side of the Strip. It is a truly remarkable imitation.
Bordering the strip at the hotel entrance is a mini-Venice: Doge's Palace, St Mark's Square, and a Bridge of Sighs. One of the most memorable aspects of visiting the Venetian is a gondola ride on the canal that snakes through the billion-dollar resort, including the length of the enormous shopping mall. There's no place like it on the Strip.
Among the largest and probably the most handsome in town, with a flair that's more European than Vegas, rooms are all genuine suites, with oversized marble bathrooms and sunken living rooms with a pullout sofa bed.
Many celebrity chefs have a residency here, among them ‘America's Best chef' Thomas Keller at Bouchon, and Paolo Belloni (he's cooked for Frank Sinatra) at Italian seafood restaurant Zefferino. The Tao Asian Bistro is definitely worth at least one visit, too.
The massive casino has over 2,500 slots, and the unbelievably lavish spa is possibly the finest hotel spa in town. Plus, the Venetian is the only place in Las Vegas to house a branch of the famed Guggenheim Museum.
Nearly $3 billion was spent on this sexy, curved, copper-clad high-rise wonderland at the northern end of the Strip. And it shows.
